Knowing that the Majors were missing a few key guys, the Bengals looked to take advantage of their division rivals. In game 1 the Bengals scored 2 in the first inning and that was all Andrew McDermid needed as he held the Majors to 1 run (unearned) all game. McDermid went the distance, scattering 3 hits and striking out 4. Hlynsky, Rattos and Jeff St. Denis each had multi-hit games.

Game 2 saw much of the same Bengals offense, as they scored 3 times in the first (capped off by a Menezes 2-run shot; his 6th of the season) and then 3 more in the second. Bengals starter Jonathan Amendola tossed a 1 hitter, while striking out 4. Menezes, Nicol and Kibsey each had multi-hit games.
