For the third straight time, the Bengals were the first to score against the Bulls. Bengals starter Jonathan Amendola held the Bulls in check for 4 innings and had to leave the game. The Bulls then exlpoded for a 10 run fifth to put the game out of reach for good. The Bengals managed to get only 3 hits off Bulls starter Eric Conlon.

Command was an issue in this game for Bengals starter Jeff St. Denis. The Bulls scored 7 runs, and each run was via a runner than reached on by a walk. Limiting the Bulls offense to only 5 hits was not enough and the walks cost the Bengals this game, in combination with only scoring 1 run. Jonathan Amendola went 2-for-2 with the Bengals lone RBI.
