Game 1 - Amendola's Bat not enough to gain victory in Game 1

Game 1 turned out to be a pitcher's duel, as runs were at a premium. The Bengals scored 2 runs in the first inning off of Stars pitcher Gavin Rajiva. Hlynsky singled to RF, Du was HBP, Nicol had a bunt single. Amendola then had an RBI single, and Menezes had a FC RBI.

The Stars scratched their way back in off Bengals starter Andrew McDermid in the 3rd and 4th inning scoring a run a piece. The Stars added 2 more in the 5th on a misplay in right field. Jonathan Amendola hit a shot to RF in the bottom of the fifth to cut the deficit to 1 run, but the Stars and Rajiva were able to hold off the Bengals to seal the Game 1 victory.

Game 2 - Stars Cut Bengals 2008 Season Short

The Bengals ended off their 2008 season in the worst possible way. They sent ace Jonathan Menezes to the hill. Although Menezes struck out 6 batters in the first two innings, the Stars owned a 5-1 lead. Bengals defense was atrocious and could not support Menezes in any way.

The Bengals offense also continued to scuffle, only scoring 2 runs the entire game after 7 free passes from Stars starter Steve Gallant. The Bengals played their worst baseball at the worst possible time. The team hopes to re-tool a bit and come back strong for the 2009 season.
