Bengals rookie Craig Rattos got his first start as a Bengal and did not disappoint. After a shaky first 2 innings, Rattos settled down and shut down the Brewers offense. He pitched a complete game, allowed only 1 hit late in the game, and held them to 1 run. Greg Da Costa continued his hot-hitting as he went 2-for-3, with a run scored, and an RBI.

Menezes also made his first appearance on the hill for 2009 and did not disappoint either. Menezes allowed only 2 hits and struck out 10 in a complete game shutout. Phair, Costley, Du, and Hlynsky all had doubles. The Bengals also stole 4 bases.
