Menezes beat the Dodgers for the first time in 4 tries
Costley hit the Bengals first Home Run of the season.

Silverberg started game 1 and found it tough to consistently hit the strike zone. A couple calls did not go his way and the Dodgers hitters pounced on a few of his pitches. Silverberg also had minimal support as the Bengals only scored 3 runs off Dodgers starter Sam Grabowski, who pitched a complete game and limited the Bengals to only 5 hits.
Final Score: Dodgers 10 - Bengals 3

This was Menezes' 4th start against the Dodgers since the 2007 season. His record was 0-2-1. The two losses were 1-0 losses. The Bengals were determid to not let that happen again. Cody Ireland led off the game with a single, and stole second. He and Phair later scored for the early 2-0 lead. Costley hit a 2-run shot in the 5th of Dodgers starter Dan Blea. That was more than enough for Menezes who only allowed 2 hits, and struck out 9. It was his first win vs. the Dodgers.
