The Bengals jumped all over Twins starter Stu Kingston, tagging him for 7 runs in the first. The Twins countered with 2 HR's off Bengals starter Craig Rattos. The Bengals had a 4 run lead going into the 6th, but the Twins bats proved too strong as they came back to tie it. Twins pitcher Dave MacKinnon allowed a single to start the bottom half of the 6th, and with a 6 man drawn-in infield, the Bengals scored on a bases loaded wild pitch to take the topsy-turvy game. C. Ireland and Menezes went deep. The Bengals banged out 18 hits.
Final Score: Bengals 13 - Twins 12
Bengals starter Jonathan Menezes felt tightness in his shoulder after walking the first 2 batters he faced. Ryan Rattos stepped in and held a potent Twins offense in check. Rattos allowed 3 runs (1 earned), scattered 4 hits and struck out 5. Menezes hit another home run. Costley kept up his hot hitting, going 2-for-2.
Final Score: Bengals 6 - Twins 3
