The Bengals sent Menezes to the hill in game 1. It was not one of his best days, but he did battle through some tough situations. Menezes walked 8 and hit 3 batters, but kept the Bengals in the game. The score was 6-1 in the 7th when the Bulls blew it open with an 8-run inning. Roger Du had the lone Bengals RBI.

In game 2 the Bengals hoped for a better offensive showing. Ryan Rattos made his first start of the year and held a potent Bulls offense to 3 runs. However, the Bengals could only squeeze out 2 hits against Bulls ace Cam McKnight. The Bengals only reached scoring position twice, and could not capitalize. The Ireland brothers had the only 2 Bengal hits.
